Childcare

Working within the NHS and being part of a team that delivers care 24 hours a day, every day, means that combining work, family and caring responsibilities isn’t always easy.

We can direct staff where to look find childcare.  Up-to-date information is available on nurseries and child minding facilities, out of school clubs and play schemes during school holidays by contacting the Human Resources department on 01423 554443.

We run a salary sacrifice scheme to purchase child care vouchers where part of salary can be exchanged for childcare vouchers, which can be used to pay for a wide range of childcare services. The vouchers are exempt from tax, national insurance and pension contributions so employees that use them to pay for childcare and will save money, by not having these deductions on the value of the vouchers.  Salary sacrifice can reduce other benefits e.g. maternity pay, protected pay, pensions. For more information please contact the Human Resources department.
