Volunteers provide an important link to the community and people of all ages and abilities give up their valuable time to work for the trust for free.
Our volunteers play a vital role in the delivery of our key services and there are opportunities and fundraising activities within the hospital.
Volunteering roles are open to anyone aged 16 years and over that either live/work or attend school/college within the Harrogate District. Due to overwhelming demand for placements, we regret that we are unable to accept applications from anyone living outside of the area.
We have introduced two deadline dates for 6th form students wishing to apply for volunteering. Please note your applications must be in by the following dates: 15 November 2012 and 15 April 2013. If your application is outside of these dates it will be held until the next intake.
Volunteers are expected to commit to a minimum of a six month period on a weekly basis giving anything from a hour or two to a full day. All prospective volunteers are required to undergo a Criminal Records Bureau Check, provide satisfactory references and attend a volunteer induction session prior to being placed. Please be aware that this process may take up to three months, and there may be a further delay due to the high number of requests that are currently being received.
We have over 450 volunteers who are involved in the following areas:
-
Working in patient clinics
-
Assisting our chaplaincy team

Helping out in the WRVS café
