Harrogate is a picturesque spa town situated in the Yorkshire Dales with a population of 158,800. It is a popular tourist destination with beautiful countryside and a number of nearby attractions including the historic city of York and the Yorkshire Dales. The first mineral spring was found in the 1500s and Harrogate became a popular spa town. It has an international conference centre and hosts the nationally renowned Great Yorkshire Show.

Harrogate is ten minutes drive from the A1 and is connected to Leeds and Ripon by the A61.

Leeds Bradford International Airport is ten miles to the south west of Harrogate.
