Donald Coverdale

Donald Coverdale

As a solicitor, Donald was very active in litigation, with a speciality in representing patients at mental health tribunals. However, it was in his role as senior coroner that his interest in reporting on the prevention of deaths arose.

As a Tribunal Judge, he also dealt with many cases relating to mental health law and social security appeals predominantly for those with disability issues.

Since retirement, Donald has maintained his interest in wanting to ensure patients receive the best and most appropriate treatment, particularly relating to mental health services.

He endeavours to signpost the Trust to provide a comprehensive range of NHS services to all those in other districts not in the immediate vicinity of Harrogate.

Donald is a regular observer at the Trust’s Quality Committee, a sub-committee of the Board.

If you would like to contact Donald on a matter related to their role as a Governor, please email [email protected]. Thank you.
