I undertook my undergraduate training at the Royal Free Hospital, University of London, qualifying in 1988. I completed all my anaesthetic training in London, working in a range of teaching hospitals, district general hospitals and speciality hospitals including Great Ormond Street. My first consultant appointment was at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, primarily as a Paediatric and Obstetric Anaesthetist.
I relocated to Harrogate in 1999, following my husband. I initially worked in Leeds General Infirmary where I extended my roles to include major maxillofacial surgical procedures. Since 2003, I have been at Harrogate District Hospital where I have been able to continue to apply my previous speciality experience in the district general hospital setting. I feel privileged to work in a cohesive team with colleagues who strive to deliver high quality anaesthesia and intensive care.
We are proud to be the second hospital in the country to be awarded the Anaesthesia Clinical Services Accreditation from the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2015.
