After studying at the University of Aberdeen and completing my early training in the north east of Scotland I moved down to Yorkshire to commence specialist training within the Yorkshire Deanery.
I developed an interest in elderly medicine whilst working in Aberdeen and specialised in this and general medicine within Yorkshire.
I then spent three years in Malaysia where I taught at a medical school and gained experience within the government hospitals. This has given me valuable insights into alternative healthcare systems.
I have now taken on this post with the aim to develop my interests in acute care of the elderly and community care.
