I qualified at Emmanuel College, Cambridge and Addenbrooke’s Hospital, and came up to Yorkshire for junior surgical training on the St. James’s rotation in Leeds. My specialist surgical training was based in Birmingham, where I was awarded a PhD in the molecular genetics of colorectal cancer.
I was lucky enough to complete a year’s fellowship in Auckland, New Zealand, before being appointed as Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth in 2007. I moved back to Yorkshire in 2018 to take up my appointment at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust.
I was a keen athlete before my joints rebelled, and now enjoy the simple pleasures in life, like the outdoors, spending time with my husband, and walking our dogs.
