I have worked as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Harrogate since 2006. My specialty interest in Hip and Knee Surgery has enabled me to gain experience by performing large numbers of Joint Replacements and ‘keyhole’ or Arthroscopic Surgeries each year.
I enjoy the practice of ‘Revision’ or ‘Re-do’ joint surgery. This involves replacing the old worn out hip with a new one. Often severe bone loss, fractures, recurrent dislocation or infection have to be overcome. I believe the difficult challenges of ‘Revision’ surgery has also given me the necessary skills to ensure good outcomes in first time Hip/Knee replacements.
I am Fellowship trained in Hip & Knee Surgery (Harrogate 2004, Brisbane 2005). I completed a MSc in Mechanical Engineering at Leeds in 2006 and have been involved in Orthopaedic Implant Design since 2008. I was the Clinical Director for Elective Services 2012-2015.
