I have worked at Harrogate now for 14 years. Prior to my appointment I was a respiratory nurse trainer, working across North Yorkshire. I was also a Practice Nurse for many years. I manage a dedicated team of respiratory nurses who offer excellent care to patients both in the Hospital and in the community. My role is 50% clinical, where I run specialist clinics and 50% non-clinical, where I do audit and research, develop guidelines, and develop new services. I also arrange specialist respiratory training for other health care professionals regionally, and chair the Yorkshire Respiratory Interest Group and am on the committee of the Yorkshire Thoracic Society.
I have co-written and edited a respiratory text book for nurses and had several papers published. I have presented at International conferences and have been awarded the Nursing Times Respiratory Nurse of the Year.
When not at work I am an avid reader. I also enjoy restoring properties and interior design.
