Patient Voice Group (PVG)

The PVG look at the care, compassion, kindness and communication patients, relatives and carers receive and work with, and contribute to the Trust to improve the patients' experience.

pvg-photoThe Patient Voice Group (PVG) is an independent voluntary body made up of members of Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. We come from a variety of backgrounds and our aim is to act as ‘the voice of the patient’ by visiting wards, outpatient departments and community based services.

Visits are made to all the wards and outpatients departments within the hospital and to all community based services.

We talk to patients, their relatives and carers to hear first-hand of their experience of the treatment they are receiving or have had.

A detailed report is then submitted to the senior management team. The report contains our observations and recommendations and includes improvements we consider are needed. The Trust responds to us within one month.
