Medical Admissions Unit (MAU)

The Medical Admissions Unit (MAU) is a 30 bedded ward to which the majority of medical admissions are admitted.

Due to the impact of planning for Coronavirus, visiting times have changed. Click here for the latest news.

Please note: This ward was previously called Clinical Assessment, Triage and Treatment (CATT).

Patients are all reviewed by a consultant, given a treatment plan and then either discharged home, kept with us in a short stay bed or admitted to a longer stay specialty bed. Admissions generally come to us from the Emergency Department, GPs or the Clinical Assessment Clinic.

We want to make you feel as comfortable as possible when you stay on our wards, and all our staff aim to adhere to our values of Passionate, Respectful, and Responsible. Find out more information about our vision and values.
