I qualified from Imperial College London (St Mary’s Hospital) in 1993. I undertook my initial training in London before moving to Bath. I then relocated to Yorkshire where I’ve completed the majority of my training. I undertook fellowship training in Melbourne, Australia in 2004.
I was appointed in 2005 to establish a foot and ankle subspecialist service in Harrogate District Hospital. Since then we have developed arthroscopic and joint replacement surgery as well as minimally invasive surgery of the foot and ankle. With my other subspecialist colleague we work closely with the musculoskeletal podiatrists, physiotherapists and orthotists to provide a balanced service for the local population.
I also assess children with orthopaedic problems, most of whom can be cared for locally.
