Volunteering

At Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust, we currently have over 400 volunteers who provide over 2,000 hours per month of help throughout the Trust.

Volunteering is a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and challenge yourself. If you choose to volunteer at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust , you know that your time will be spent making a difference to patients when they need it most.

Volunteers play a vital role in the everyday operation of the hospital such as raising money for Harrogate Hospital & Community Charity (HHCC), supporting big events, undertaking administrative tasks, helping people to find their way around the hospital, supporting the chaplaincy, cancer services, outpatient clinics and improving the atmosphere in public areas.

Volunteering can make a difference to anyone, irrespective of age. It can provide opportunities to gain experience and develop skills. It also offers the opportunity to get out of the house, meet new people and go some way towards tackling the problem of loneliness and isolation.

Whether you want to volunteer at Harrogate District Hospital, in one of our community locations or be a Volunteer driver, everyone can make a difference; by becoming part of the Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust volunteer community. We cover a huge geographical area with services from Selby to Sunderland.

You absolutely can make a huge difference to our patients, staff and their families.
