Community Anchors are voluntary sector organisations rooted in local communities. They offer advice, support, and their own services, and can also signpost to other organisations, acting as a single point of contact for the local voluntary sector.

Armed Forces Covenant

In 2022, HDFT signed the Armed Forces Covenant, a voluntary pledge which acknowledges that veterans and serving personnel should have the same access to services as the civilian community and should not face disadvantages in their day-to-day lives owing to their time as part of HM Armed Forces.

North Yorkshire

Community Transport

A number of the Harrogate and Rural District Community Anchors provide access to community transport. Each service works alongside each other and the TVCSA (Tadcaster Volunteer Community Support Association) to provide to Harrogate and the surrounding areas. This service is provided by volunteer drivers.

The service is accessed through contacting the relevant Community Anchor for the area in which the user is based. This transport can be used for attending health care appointments and other activities and can be pre-booked. It is provided by:
