I qualified in medicine and pharmacology from the University of Liverpool and undertook postgraduate medical training for three years in Leeds. I subsequently trained to registrar level as a rheumatologist before completing higher training in dermatology in Leeds. I have been a Consultant Dermatologist at Harrogate since 2008 and am the Clinical Lead for Skin Cancer Services. In addition to this, I am also Chairman of the Area Prescribing Committee and am active in clinical research, previously undertaking the role of UK chief investigator in several dermatology clinical trials.
I have a keen interest in mountain skiing and an even keener interest in avalanche avoidance.
