I qualified in medicine at the University of Leeds in 1998. I undertook various general medicine posts based in hospitals in West Yorkshire and gained the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians qualification. Following this I specialised in palliative medicine on the Yorkshire Palliative Medicine Training scheme, working in hospices and specialist palliative care teams across the region.
I became a Consultant in 2008. I was appointed as a Consultant in Palliative Medicine at HDFT in 2016 and work mainly in the community setting.
