I qualified in medicine from the University of Newcastle in 2001. General medical training took me from the north east to London and further afield to New Zealand. During this time I also completed the Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene at the University of Liverpool.
I returned to my Yorkshire roots in 2007 to begin microbiology training, based in Leeds. Following this I took up the Consultant post in Microbiology in Harrogate and became Antimicrobial Stewardship Lead. I have been the Head of Department since 2015.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, running and pilates.
