I trained at the University of Leeds and worked across the Leeds Teaching Hospitals as a junior doctor until joining the Emergency Medicine Training Scheme rotating around Yorkshire hospitals. I completed my training in emergency medicine in 2004 and then took up a consultant post at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals. I worked there as a Consultant, taking on the Clinical Director post for firstly acute and emergency medicine before moving on to lead the whole division of medicine. In 2013 I made the decision to move to Harrogate for a new challenge.
Most of my spare time is taken up with transporting/watching my two children playing various sports or hanging onto the tail end of my own, somewhat limited, football career.
