Byland Ward is a mixed, 30 bed ward for acutely unwell elderly patients with frailty.

We have access to a variety of specialist teams within Harrogate District Hospital such as respiratory, tissue viability, infection prevention and control, cardiac nurses, dietitians and speech and language therapists, who all enable us to care for our patients.

We have a recently renovated patient lounge and we hold a monthly tea party on the Ward, which is open to patients’ families and friends. Volunteers from the Hospital assist with activities and meal time preparation, and we have a Pets as Therapy scheme.

Byland also has a nutritional assistant who provides assessment and care for patients in the clinical area. Meals can be ordered for visiting families or they can use the dining room located on the first floor.

We want to make you feel as comfortable as possible when you stay on our wards, and all our staff aim to adhere to our values of Passionate, Respectful, and Responsible. Find out more information about our vision and values.
