A Harrogate nurse is encouraging prospective nurses and operating department practitioners (ODPs) to attend a recruitment event that gives people the chance to walk away with a conditional offer of employment on the day.
Arti Sivanandarajah, a qualified Staff Nurse on Granby Ward at Harrogate District Hospital, is helping to promote Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust’s next recruitment event on Saturday 12 October 2019, 10am-2pm at Harrogate District Hospital.
Arti has worked as a nurse at Harrogate District Hospital for the last five years, in both permanent and bank roles, and has benefited from the Trust’s unique Two Year Preceptorship Programme. This provides newly qualified nurses with the clinical and professional skills needed to develop their careers further. All newly qualified nurses are allocated two people, one being an experienced practitioner and the other a nurse who has recently been through the programme, working to provide extra support.
Arti said: “Prospective nurses and ODPs should come along on Saturday 12 October to find out more about working for the Trust, and could even come away with a conditional job offer the very same day.
“In my role as a Staff Nurse, I am and have been very well supported on the Two Year Preceptorship Programme, especially through my first year which was the most challenging. The preceptor course is excellent and the support I’ve received from all colleagues has been fantastic.
“We hope as many people as possible can join us at the event to hear more about the roles we have available and meet the team.”
The event will offer attendees a chance to speak with the Trust’s Senior Nursing Team and Theatres staff, take a tour of the wards and departments they could be working in and hear about how the Trust supports newly qualified and more experienced ODPs plus nurses on the Two Year Preceptorship Programme. All with the chance to have an interview and walk away with a conditional job offer on the day.
