The Great Yorkshire Show will take place from Tuesday 14 July to Friday 17 July 2026, opening from 8am to 6pm each day. As usual, traffic in and around Harrogate is expected to be impacted by the event.
Staff, patients and visitors are advised to avoid Weatherby Road, if possible plan their journeys to Harrogate District Hospital and the surrounding area in advance, allow up to 45 minutes additional travelling time, and check local traffic updates before setting out.
MORNING PHASE
Wetherby Road (A661) will operate one-way from The Kestrel roundabout to the junction with Rudding Lane towards the showground from 6.30am on show days. The one-way system has also been extended on the A658 towards Harrogate from Thistle Hill junction to The Kestrel roundabout.
This will be for mornings only from 6.30am.
AFTERNOON PHASE
The one-way system will be reversed on Wetherby Road from 2pm between Sainsbury’s traffic lights and The Kestrel roundabout to accommodate traffic leaving Harrogate. This will remain until 9pm with the potential to be removed earlier depending on the amount of congestion.
