New Clinical Research Facility (CRF) opens at Harrogate District Hospital

A new pop up Clinical Research Facility (CRF) has opened on Farndale Ward at Harrogate District Hospital, marking an exciting step forward for clinical research at HDFT.

This new facility strengthens the Trust’s long standing commitment to research, at a time when there is a renewed focus on the importance of research at a national level. The 10-Year Health Plan for England, and the Life Sciences Sector Plan set strong ambitions for health research, economic growth and improved health outcomes. NHS Trusts have a critical role in delivering these ambitions, and this new facility embeds research physically within the Harrogate District Hospital site.

This pop up facility represents an important milestone for HDFT. It allows us to see participants in a dedicated space, and expand the types of trials we can deliver. Strengthening our role as a research active Trust and helping bring the latest health research and innovations to the people we serve.

We’re ambitious about the future, and this is just the beginning. As our research portfolio grows, so too will our capacity to offer cutting edge treatments, improve care pathways and contribute to national and global evidence.

A move to a permanent location for a CRF at HDFT is in the planning stages and is expected to take place later this year.
