More than £17,500 raised at cancer centre’s Spring Ball

Posted on: Thursday 19 May 2016

More than £17,500 has been raised at the second Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre Charity Spring Ball thanks to the fantastic fundraising effort from everyone in attendance.

The ball was held on Saturday 14 May at the Old Swan Hotel, Harrogate. The event, sponsored by Lights4Fun and Rabbit Hill Country Store & Rural Supplies, saw guests enjoying a fun packed evening with fabulous food, wine and entertainment provided by band ‘Ticket 415’ and disco ‘Loaded’. A charity auction, silent auction and raffle provided fabulous prizes and lots, the highlight being a Hamper personally donated by HRH Prince Charles.

The total raised is continuing to rise. The final amount will be split between the Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre charitable fund to provide supportive complementary therapies to local patients and carers affected by cancer, and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Sarah Grant, Chair of the SROMC Spring Ball Committee, said: “On behalf of the committee I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported this year’s Spring Ball. We have been overwhelmed by the generosity shown to this event, through the sponsorship, prize donations and everyone who bought a ticket and attended on the night. The feedback we have received has been overwhelming since Saturday, and demand is already high for next years Spring Ball which will be held on Saturday 20 May 2017!”
