How to join
Membership is free and open to all NHS staff both working in Harrogate and surrounding districts, and for associated NHS staff working with the Trust. Access to an electronic membership form is available to eligible staff via the HDFT intranet.

How do I take out books from the library?
To take out books from the library you first need to register, which can be done via the ‘Library Registration’ link. Once you have registered you can browse through and request books from the library catalogue which can then be collected from the library- this can take a few days if the book is being sent from another library.
How can I request journals and articles?
If the journal or article can’t be found on the Knowledge & Library Hub, please contact a librarian for assistance who can use other channels to locate it.
What facilities does the library offer?
There are 3 study rooms, a computer suite, sleep pod and laptops in the library. These can be requested or booked by emailing or calling the library.
Does the library offer any training?
Yes, please visit the HDFT intranet via the link & head to ‘Information Skills Training’ to find out more.
What e-resources are available through the library?

Can I get out of hours access to the library?
Yes, once you have registered with the library, you can request the out of hours door code from a library staff member. To use the out of hours service, you will need to make sure that your staff ID gives you access to the 3rd floor Strayside wing.
