Tissue Viability Service

The Tissue Viability Service provides specialist advice on the prevention and management of wounds to patients and staff across Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust.

The Tissue Viability Service

The Tissue Viability Nurses deliver advice and support to both adult and child patients, as well as staff, in a number of different ways. This includes supporting inpatients and patients cared for in the wider community by district nurses, practice nurses, and providing help and advice to care homes.

The aim of our Tissue Viability Service is to work alongside clinicians to assess and treat patients who are at risk of, or already have, complex wounds. These include:

  • Pressure ulcers
  • Leg ulcers
  • Surgical wounds

The service provides care for patients across Harrogate District Hospital, in care homes and the wider community.
