A new bicycle store providing safe, secure and undercover bicycle storage for staff opened at Harrogate District Hospital on Monday 13 June 2022.
The store is part of the Trust’s commitment to becoming a greener, more environmentally friendly and sustainable organisation.
The bicycle store, which has room for 44 bikes is located at the entrance to the main car par at Harrogate District Hospital.
The store, which has been funded by the Trust’s wellbeing fund, features swipe card access using staff identification badges, a tool kit station comprising a bike stand, pump and a selection of tools, and electric charging points for two bikes.
For security, the bicycle store is monitored by CCTV and is cladded in toughened clear glass to aid visibility both into and out of the store.
Cyclists wishing to use the bicycle store will need to complete an application form for access to the store and take it along with their existing ID security badge to the General Office in the main reception of the hospital. Please be aware usage of the bicycle store in on a first come first served basis, and bike racks cannot be reserved.
