Alan has joined as a nominated stakeholder Governor, representing the voluntary sector. He is a trustee of Healthwatch North Yorkshire. This is a local statutory organisation with a remit to hear about patient experiences with regard to health and social care. The information gained is then fedback to local providers with the aim of improving standards and outcomes.
Alan’s background is in primary care. He was a GP in Harrogate for 32 years. His interest now is in promoting patient-centred, compassionate high quality health care. This is best delivered by responsive joined up health and social care.
