Richard Farrar

Richard has lived in the Harrogate area for 25 years although originated from Bradford. He is an advocate for the NHS and feels he can give back to the organisation by being a governor. As an engineer, he is detail-oriented and believes good solutions to most issues are found through examining the details.

He is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and spent most of his career as a Medical Engineer, Manager, and Director of Research & Development working for a large healthcare company in the area of orthopaedics. He holds a degree and a doctorate from the Universities of Bradford and Leeds respectively. He is retired and married with three sons who are all pursuing careers in a variety of professions.
