My husband and I have lived in Harrogate and the surrounding villages for 36 years, bringing up our three daughters here. I retired at Christmas 2021 following a 38-year career at PwC, a leading global professional services firm. Since retirement I have enjoyed volunteering for organisations in our local community including Fountains Abbey parkrun, a food waste/poverty charity, the Yorkshire Show Ground vaccination centre and the Harrogate Flower Show.
I am FCA qualified and worked in the audit division of PwC for 15 years, leading audits of a wide range of entities including those in the health sector. Following the birth of my children I moved into Operations, latterly becoming the UK Operations Director of our Risk business where my role was to ensure that we ran an efficient, effective organisation. My role required a wide range of leadership skills from strategic thinking to operational planning, underpinned by effective communication and listening to and caring about people.
As a Trustee Director of the PwC pension funds for 8 years (assets £2bn) I gained extensive experience of governance matters. I am looking forward to using my skills gained at PwC as a member of the Governor team at HDFT.
If you would like to contact Kathy on a matter related to her role as a Governor, please email [email protected]. Thank you.
