Nigel brings a wealth of experience and a history of engagement with all sectors of the NHS to the Council of Governors. He has held senior positions in the NHS and subsequently as a management consultant. He has established successful businesses focusing on improving patient quality, safety and productivity within both the NHS and in private healthcare. He has led programmes that have delivered significant improvements to the NHS, including national programmes.
During his career, he has worked with many boards of directors, both in the NHS as well as in the commercial sector and he is currently a Non-executive Director for a community-based company providing services to the NHS. As such, he is used to holding board to account.
Now semi-retired, Nigel is putting his skills and experience to use as an HDFT governor. He is committed to ensuring the patients’ voice is heard and listened to – a constructive advocate for the views of patients and advocates co-production of changes to or the provision of new services
