Dr Ian Sheldrake is a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthesia with specialist interests in pre-hospital emergency medicine, critical care transfers, point-of-care ultrasound and regional anaesthesia. He studied medicine at the University of Nottingham before completing his postgraduate training in Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthesia in the Wessex Deanery.
Alongside his work at Harrogate District Hospital, he works as a doctor for Yorkshire Air Ambulance, delivering pre-hospital critical care to seriously ill and injured patients across the region. He is an accredited point-of-care ultrasound mentor and is actively involved in clinical education. He also regularly teaches on international trauma courses. Outside medicine, he enjoys running, cycling, skiing and spending time outdoors with his wife and three children.
