I joined HDFT as a Consultant in acute and general medicine in 2023 on completion of specialty training in Acute Medicine the same year. I graduated from the University of Leeds in 2012 then remained in West Yorkshire for medical training, other than 1 year spent working in a rural hospital in Uganda.
During my training in acute medicine I developed a sub-specialty interest in infectious diseases and tropical medicine. This included a period of training in the infectious diseases unit at St. James Hospital Leeds and the completion of the Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene through the University of Sheffield. This experience is invaluable in my day to day work on the acute medical unit and SDEC.
Outside of work I am a trustee of Kisiizi Partners, a charity which support a rural Ugandan hospital. Being the dad of 2 boys doesn’t leave a lot of time for much else, but I try to get out on my bike when I can, and play a bit of cricket and football.
