I qualified in medicine from the University of Calcutta in 1994. I then took the PLAB examination and moved for further training to the UK. Between 1994 and 1997 I underwent my senior house officer (SHO) training (currently referred to as CMT training) in West Yorkshire. My specialty training in diabetes and endocrinology was across various hospitals in Yorkshire.
Following completion of my specialty training, I was appointed as a Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology in Harrogate in 2004.
As well as being a trained Mentor for the Trust, I’m also working as College Tutor for Medicine in Harrogate District Hospital and as one of the Clinical Leads in the Integrated Care Directorate.
