She agreed to temporarily move localities to help address a backlog of work, ensuring core contacts were delivered in timescale so families could access care for their children at the right time. Molly was nominated in recognition of her compassion, creativity, and commitment to improving patient experience. She identified a simple but meaningful need on the ward and took action, creating practical and attractive bags for patients to carry their syringe driver pumps. Molly also crocheted small hearts for patients to give to their loved ones, providing comfort and connection during difficult times. These thoughtful acts go far beyond her clinical role, demonstrating her empathy, initiative, and dedication to holistic, patient-centred care.
Uthfala went above and beyond in caring for a very complex patient, who was the first on Oakdale to receive bi-specific treatment at HDFT.
Uthfala provided outstanding support to both the patient and their relative, offering reassurance throughout. Following a short two-day stay, the patient was successfully discharged home. The family were keen to ensure that Uthfala received recognition for her hard work and compassionate support.
Marta Ozimek – Senior Care Support Worker, Leonora Canlas – Senior Care Support Worker & Richard Elelakpodia – Staff Nurse
Marta and Leonora consistently go above and beyond, even during difficult and short-staffed shifts. Despite the pressures of the ward, they remain positive and work closely with each other and the nursing team to support patient care. Colleagues shared that their proactive approach makes a real difference to the running of the ward. Admission tasks are often completed without needing to be asked, helping patient flow and strengthening teamwork across the ward.

George Scanlon – Macmillan Cancer Care Coordinator
George was nominated for her quick thinking and compassion in a critical situation. While on her day off, she came across a distressed patient. George safely guided the patient from danger and stayed with them until emergency services arrived, and promptly informed the hospital, prioritising the patient’s safety above all else. George goes above and beyond for all members of the MDT and Breast patients– she displays all the trust values both in and out of work.

Adrian is someone who genuinely goes above and beyond in his role. He is always happy to help with additional jobs and will step in without hesitation when the service is under pressure. He takes pride in his work and can always be relied upon to complete tasks safely, professionally and to a high standard. Gemma has been the driving force behind developing and coordinating the creation of content and visual presence of the new charity website. From the outset Gemma brought structure and momentum to the project.

Colleagues shared how she went above and beyond to support a confused and distressed patient, taking the time to talk with him, listen to music he enjoys, and involve him in simple tasks to help keep him calm and engaged.
