Macmillan Breast Oncology Nurse Specialists

The Macmillan Breast Oncology Nursing Service works within the Women’s Cancer Nursing Team, and offers support and advice to patients who have been diagnosed with a breast malignancy.

Breast care

The Macmillan Breast Oncology Nursing Service comprises three clinical nurse specialists whose main role is to support and provide information to patients who have been diagnosed with a breast malignancy and their families and carers. We will often become involved at diagnosis and support patients throughout their treatment and beyond.

In addition to this, we provide education and advice to patients and other healthcare professionals.

We work as part of the breast multi-disciplinary team (MDT), and liaise closely with consultants and other healthcare professionals.

Referral

Patients are referred to us by their GP or allied healthcare professional. However, they can contact the Team directly for advice.
